An entrepreneur controls many tasks. And the larger the business becomes, the more tasks devour its attention and vitality. It is becoming more and more difficult to deal with this and therefore attempts to improve personal efficiency begin. But they lead to even more loading. In this article, I will talk about three rules that will help you deal with this.
Why do we experience stress?
We experience stress when our attention is scattered over a multitude of unfinished tasks. They may not necessarily be workers: if they promised their wife to buy a fur coat, but have not yet done so, attention hangs. The more things you have to control, the more your attention is required. But the number of tasks we can focus on is limited. We experience stress when we reach the limit of our capabilities. More and more new tasks appear, and the need to solve them makes you feel like you are about to be torn to pieces.

Statistics
95% of entrepreneurs work more than hired managers, even in large companies;
60% are on the verge of a nervous breakdown;
72% think about quitting the business from time to time;
62% have health problems;
70% do not have time for family and children.
I share three rules that help me deal with these problems.
Rule #1
Don’t Start Tasks You Can’t Complete
Do not make promises to others that you will not keep, because your time is limited. The work should take 40 hours a week, I try not to overwork. I recommend that you add all tasks to Google Calendar, it will not allow overload. You will automatically prioritize and decide whether to take it on.
I put on Google Calendar not only work tasks, but also personal matters, meetings with friends, studying, and even meals because they also take up time: you can’t have breakfast and have a meeting at the same time. The calendar will help you focus on what really matters. You will not start more than you can complete.
Rule #2
Get subordinates to realistic plans
If you are not sure whether the employee will complete the task, then also spend attention on it. Do not think that the more the subordinate plans, the more effective he will be. If tasks are scheduled for 60 hours, and he has 40 at his disposal, then he will fail 50% of the tasks. And it is possible that many of them will be a priority.
Therefore, make sure that subordinates are also realistic: make balanced plans, use Google Calendar. The manager must have access to the calendars of direct reports. This will help to do intermediate control: you will know not only the list of tasks but also at what time they will be completed.
Rule #3
Batch tasks
You need to sign 30 documents. And each of them can be a separate task. Or you can set one task – sign all 30 documents and do it at the same time every day.
You have 10 subordinates, and each has 15 tasks. Your attention is spread over 150 tasks. It’s a lot, it leads to stress. But if subordinates make plans and add tasks to the Calendar, then it is easier to interact with it. You meet daily for 15-20 minutes, check progress, approve, help and push.
Output
Written plans, a calendar, and daily communication with subordinates will help you relieve stress. As a leader, you will be able to use your time effectively, as well as achieve harmony in all areas of life.
